Plans & Decisions

She sped all the way back to her home
, carrying the young girl bridal style. She burst through the doors of her home, speeding right past Eric, who was feeding on another prostitute. He suddenly pushed her off following Jade to her bedroom. He stood in the doorway watching as she put the girl into her bed. The girl looked familiar to him, but he couldn’t quite remember where he’s seen her before.

“Don’t remember her, do you?” Jade asked. Eric raised an eyebrow, wondering how she knew what he was thinking. “This is Carmen, the other prostitute you fucked and fed on the other night.” Eric squinted at her face, then realized that Jade was right. He has fed on her before.

“I didn’t fuck her.” Eric simply said. Jade looked up at him with disbelief.

“Really?” she asked. “She was straddling your lap, practically dry humping you…you’re telling me that you never had intercourse with her?” she asks him, pointing to the unconscious girl in her bed.

“Yes. When I was finished feeding on her, she started crying and begged me to let her go.” Jade stared at him with silence.

“And?”

“I just let her go. Why?” She sighs, wondering if it was a good idea to tell him how she found the girl.

“I found her beaten and naked in an alleyway. As you can see, she’s knocked out cold.”

“What happened to her?” He asked. He knew if Jade found her and bought her here, it was pretty bad.

“She was raped, then beaten. I’m gonna find her, bring her back here and take care of her. She belongs to Marcus’s brothel.” She growled out the last part. “Most of the girls there, are there against their will. When she wakes, I’m going to ask her some questions.”

Jade snapped back to reality. She shook her head, remembering that she had a lot of things to do. She went back to the office and sat back down. There was so much to do, yet not enough time to get a lot done before the coronation. She was going to have to hire some help to lighten the load. Jade has Pam planning the party, and Carrie planning the coronation. Both her and Eric are sorting through Sophie Ann’s finances, having to go all the way back to her palace to look through the paperwork.

It was a good thing Jade decided to do this, otherwise she wouldn’t have known how much debt Sophie put Louisiana in. Not only that but Jade also saw how much she was stealing from her sheriffs and keeping all the tributes to herself to satisfy her lavish lifestyle. Jade shook her head as she glanced at all the paper work.

Sophie Ann’s books and finances were a mess. This girl had seriously gotten lazy and must have hired a god-awful accountant. Everything was out of order, scattered and/or missing. Jade listened as Eric, Sookie and Pam arrived at the bar. She heard them come through the employee entrance. The moment Eric and Sookie walked in, Jade looked up from her desk.

“We need to talk. Let’s go talk in your office.” She sped away, knowing they will follow behind her. She waited against the edge of the desk as Eric walked in with Sookie in tow at a human pace. She looked up at them, “Close the door.”

Sookie pushed the door closed and waited next to Eric for the obvious bad news. “What’s wrong? I see something’s wrong all over your face.” Sookie says shakily.

“I had an interesting visitor a while ago.” Jade paused, knowing this information is going to make Sookie’s head spin all the way around.

“Eric, you remember Fintan, right?” He nodded his head.

“I take it this “Fintan” was your visitor?” Sookie asked. Jade nodded her head.

“Sookie, what has your grandmother told you about your telepathy? Has she ever told you where it came from? Why you are the way you are?” She shook her head but had a feeling this had something to do with this Fintan.

“Fintan is a fairy.” Eric stated.

“Yep. He came forward telling me he’s your biological grandfather.” She says to Sookie.

“What?” Sookie felt fear rising in her. Jade sighed.

“Has anything ever happened to you that you couldn’t explain or do before?” Sookie gasped, thinking about the light that came out of her hands when Hadley tried to attack her. Jade saw the look on face and knew…her powers were beginning to manifest; therefore, she is indeed close to reaching Fae maturity.

“I take it a light came out your hands?” She looked shocked but nodded her head.

“You’re part fairy, Sookie. The light that came out of your hands is proof you possess the essential spark. Very few fairies have it and often comes from families that have royal blood.”

“Royal bloo…” Sookie trailed off.

“Yes…you’re a fae princess…a sky fae princess to be exact.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means that you are powerful and can draw your power from sky elements; the sun, the wind, and rain. You can manipulate the weather, basically.”

“And what about this Fintan? Who is he and how does he know who I am?” This was seriously going to piss off Sookie.

“I’m not sure if anyone in your family ever told you this, but Fintan Brigant is your grandfather.”

“This can’t be…It’s not possible! Mitchel Stackhouse is my grandfather! My Gran would never cheat!” Sookie said, raising her voice, her face red with anger. Jade remained calm, expecting this to be Sookie’s reaction.

“When Fintan came to see me, I could see it in my head. I saw how he met your grandmother and fell in love with her instantly…and later, she fell in love with him.” Jade paused, “I also saw how Mitchel and Adele were trying hard to have children, and could not, due to an illness he had a long time ago. And Fintan offered to make that dream come true.”

“You’re lying! This is not true!”

“Sookie,” Jade sighs, “I’m not disputing the fact that your Gran was a remarkable woman…but you need to face the fact that your Gran is not perfect or squeaky clean. She desperately wanted children and Mitchell couldn’t give that to her…so she found another.” Sookie kept shaking her head vehemently, tear rolling down her eyes, Eric trying to comfort her.

“If you what you say is true, then there’s no way you could be a telepath and there’s no way a light could just come out your hands. Your grandmother had an affair with Fintan…and you are part fairy, Hun. Accept it.” She started sobbing.

“No…I don’t accept this! I’m human! I’m not some part fairy! None of this is true!” Sookie stormed out of the room, and Eric moved to go after her, but Jade stopped him.

“Let her go. Give her a minute to process this. She took it a lot worse than I thought.” Eric turned back to Jade giving her a withering look.

“Did you really have to be harsh to her?” Eric growled. Jade raised an eyebrow, then sighs.

“Look, I’m not going to sugar coat things for her just because she’s human and new to all this. There is never an easy way to drop this kind of news on someone…so it’s better to just say it and get it over with. The best you can do is comfort her and support her, Eric.”

Eric simply stared at Jade for a moment, then nodded his head. He sped out the office, going after his little fairy. Carrie walks in, looking at back at Eric who sped out the bar. She turned back to Jade.

“Is everything okay?” she asked softly. Jade stared at her youngest progeny and smiled to herself.

“Everything’s fine…sort of.” Jade sighs, pausing to think about how her youngest child is going to take the news. She knows this is going to worry Carrie as much as it worries herself. “The Magister is going to be making an appearance soon.” She simply said as Carrie stared at her.

“For Sophie Ann?” She already knowing what the answer is. Jade scoffs.

“I’m sure that’s the excuse he’s going to use.” She said, chuckling with bitterness. She knew the Magister was going to use this opportunity to get his revenge for Jade stealing Carrie, releasing all his other sex slaves and burning down his brothel so many centuries ago. She knew sooner or later it would come to this.

This is a good opportunity to question Markus. It made no sense to Jade that the Magister hired two low life vampires to spy on her…and for what purpose? To control her? No, this is someone else, someone far more powerful and someone who wants leverage. But who? Who would have to gain from learning all of Jade’s weaknesses? Jade could count on one hand who would jump at the opportunity to control her.

She wondered if someone from the Authority was pulling the magister’s strings? It wouldn’t be the first time it has happened. Someone always got it in their head that they can outwit Jade Valentine. Although she had a feeling she may already know who…After the whole disaster with Sylvie and the Yakuza, she vowed to never trust the Authority again.

There’s a whole bunch of shit she hadn’t told Eric yet…especially about Sylvie…things that would break Eric’s heart. If he knew what Jaded kept from him, he’d probably never forgive her and she wouldn’t blame him either.

“What is it?” Carrie finally says, noticing the look on Jade’s face.

“The Magister used Hot Rain and Longshadow to spy on us…mainly me.” She needed to tell her youngest progeny what was really going on…that he wasn’t just after Carrie.

“But why? What would he have to gain from spying on you?”

“My guess is this is not his doing…but somebody else. The who, however is unknown.” The list would be extensive, so much could be gained learning of Jade’s weaknesses.

“What’s your plan?” Carrie knew she had one…she was always prepared for many possibilities. Jade gave her a look.

“I’m sure he’s gonna barge in here with his army to “take” me in. Then he’s going to call for a tribunal and have me tried publicly…probably for treason, or whatever kind of excuse he can come up with.” Jade paused, glancing at Carrie. “He’s probably gonna demand that you come along.”

“Figured as much.” she muttered. Jade snickers. “So, what is your plan? Just let him take us both?”

“Yes, actually. This may be his game, but we’re playing by my rules.” Jade says grinning.
